PALS SimBaby Scenarios

Recognizing and managing infant emergencies can only come with hands-on training.

Validated by the American Heart Association (AHA) and designed specifically for use with the Laerdal SimBaby™ Advanced Infant Simulator, these scenarios provide a complete solution for simulation-based training of pediatric advanced life support skills. All core scenarios require learners to use critical thinking skills and take steps using a systematic approach in order to successfully complete the scenario.

The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) scenarios contain 4 skills teaching scenarios and 21 core scenarios that address major learning objectives geared toward both basic and advanced pediatric care. The core scenarios are designed to encourage participants to assess and manage different pediatric conditions, including respiratory compromise, circulatory compromise, and cardiac arrest. The cases and treatments outlined have been developed to meet the learning objectives of the 2005 AHA PALS Provider Course.

Each scenario can take place in a hospital, emergency department, ICU or pre-hospital setting.
